    Crossing roads safely requires the integration of appropriate gap selection and coordination of movement and is influenced by a variety of factors, such as age and whether crossing alone or with others. As we age, we begin to gain more competence in these skills. In addition, choosing an appropriate gap and coordinating one’s movements when alone is different than when crossing with a partner.

    The Transportation and Vehicle Safety Research Program will be hosting a public seminar and panel discussion on the future of driving and riding autonomous vehicles.  This event will bring together international experts who will demonstrate current robotic car technology as well as answer questions from the public and media.

    This event is open to high school students across Iowa, and is designed to explore leadership through the lives and stories of American Veterans and challenge students to rethink how society defines leadership, what it means to lead by example, and how mental attitude can overcome adversity.

    The Legislative Brown Bag Lunch and Learn Series events are designed to allow University of Iowa faculty to share their expertise with Iowa legislators on critical issues relevant to the current session. They are also intended to familiarize legislators with experts they can turn to for assistance with research-based evidence on a regular basis.
