    Students of PPC's scholar-in-residence, Carrie Schuettpelz, will present their policy recommendations to their client, the city of Keokuk, IA, as part of the course she teaches, Public Policy and Persuasion (RHET:3560 / POLI:3560). Their presentations on "Abandoned Housing and Squatters" and "Housing Inspections and Tenant Rights" will take place from 11:00am - 12:15pm on December 10, in 14 Schaeffer Hall.

    Dr. James J. Zogby co-founded the Arab American Institute in 1985 and continues to serve as its president. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee and was appointed by President Obama to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom in 2013.

    As a great power on both the regional and global levels, China’s foreign policy has unique impact on Northeast Asian affairs. What is Beijing seeking through its policy toward Northeast Asian states? What does it mean for the Sino-U.S. relationship? This presentation will provide an overview of these issues and shed light on the interests and challenges of China’s foreign policy in East Asia Area.

    This workshop will provide a tutorial on multilevel models (also known as hierarchical linear models). This workshop will cover how to conduct multilevel analyses using both R and Stata with continuous and binary dependent variables. We assume that participants have no prior knowledge of multilevel modeling and only basic familiarity with R and Stata. Example code will be provided.

During her time working at HuffPost, Angyal covered a variety of topics, from politics to popular opinion to classical ballet, as well as working on the 2016 Olympic gymnastics coverage.
