Wonk Wednesdays - Spring 2018
The University of Iowa Public Policy Center (PPC) presented a community-focused series of events. Each month we examined a policy topic from our various research areas, in a variety of formats.
These events were free and open to the public, and took place at 7 p.m. in Iowa City Public Library Meeting Room A. Videos of the presentations are available on the Media tab below.

Tracy Osborn, Director, PPC Politics & Policy Research Program, will talk about her research on groups that recruit, train, and fund women to run for office. What do we know about these groups? Do they work? Are they the best way to find women to run for office?
March 22, 2018
Natoshia Askelson, Assistant Professor, Department of Community and Behavioral Health, and PPC Health Policy Research Program researcher, will lead a panel discussion about the role of school meals in students’ health.
April 19, 2018
Silvia Secchi, Associate Professor, Department of Geographical and Sustainability Sciences and PPC Environmental Policy Research Program researcher, will talk about the current status of global climate change policies following the 2015 Paris accord, which has now been signed by all countries in the world, and last year’s White House decision to withdraw from it.
