Grant to Improve Oral Health Workforce

The Health Resources and Services Administration and the DHHS are funding a PPC Health Program grant titled, "Iowa's Effort to Improve Oral Health Workforce Activities." Principal Investigator Ray Kuthy and colleagues will develop a dental workforce model that substantially augments the population-to-dentist ratio generally used by health planners. In conjunction with community health centers in southern Iowa, they will also develop community-based, senior dental student clinical rotation sites. The investigators are creating historical and current dentist databases to gain insight into office site locations at the local and county level.
