Hawkeye Poll: Illegal Immigration Affected Vote Choices

The Hawkeye Poll, conducted by the Hawkeye Poll Cooperative and facilitated by the Iowa Social Science Research Center this past fall, reported that 61 percent of respondents said that illegal immigration was “very important” in their vote choices during the 2010 election. A 77 percent majority of those taking the poll favored stricter immigration laws or enforcement.
