Damiano Promotes PPC to Triangle Club

Body

PPC Director Dr. Peter Damiano recently presented The UI Public Policy Center: Academic Research and Public Engagement in Practice to a meeting of the Triangle Club at the University Athletic Club. The presentation included discussion of the Center's record of interdisciplinary research within its six research programs, its process for supporting such research across campus, as well as for disseminating results to policy makers and the public.

The history of the Triangle Club dates back to the late 1800s when it was formed for the purpose of creating fellowship and helpfulness. At that time, the University had only 45 professors at the University, no associate professors, seven assistant professors, 40 instructors, and a total of 1,283 students. Today the club has about 50 members, and membership is open to UI faculty and administrative staff and the local professional and business community.
