McGehee Spotlighted on NPR’s 'Morning Edition'

Dan McGehee, director of the Transportation and Vehicle Safety Policy program, was interviewed about distracted driving on National Public Radio’s (NPR) Morning Edition (Tuesday, July 28, 2015). McGehee pointed out that distraction is nothing new to drivers; however, car manufacturers are trying to improve infotainment systems (e.g., Bluetooth, GPS, etc.) using voice recognition, which poses other issues.  McGehee explains that some drivers seek out visual validation when operating voice recognition programs, which provides mixed results on driver safety when using them.
