Damiano on review panel of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR)

Dr. Peter Damiano, Director of the Public Policy Center and the PPC’s Health Policy Research Program, served on a review panel of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) on Tuesday, June 6.

As part of the panel, Damiano, who is also a professor of preventive and community dentistry in the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics, reviewed applications received in response to a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for “Implementation Science Research to Improve Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Health.”

The NIDCR is the federal government’s lead agency for scientific research on dental, oral and craniofacial health and disease. NIDCR is one of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The NIDCR’s mission is to improve dental, oral and craniofacial health through research and research training, and by sharing science-based health information with the public and health care professionals.
