Iowa City Schools annual climate survey reveals progress, room for improvement


Results of the second annual student climate survey indicate some significant steps taken toward classroom and school equity, but reveal major strides still necessary to become fully inclusive.

The 2017 school climate survey report, released in partnership between the Iowa City Community School District and the University of Iowa Public Policy Center, highlights continued racial disparity within the school system, and added an additional area of inequity, pertaining to gender identity.
