McKernan and Oishi present at IADR in London

Drs. Susan McKernan (Assistant Professor, Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry, UI College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics) and Matthew Oishi (Dental Public Health Resident and UI College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics) presented at the 96thGeneral Session and Exhibition of the International Association of Dental Research in London, July 25-28.

McKernan did an oral presentation on “Emergency Department Dental Visits in a New Medicaid Program,” based on her research on the 2014 Iowa Medicaid Expansion’s dental coverage to low-income adults through the Dental Wellness Plan.

Oishi presented his poster, “Surveying Oral Health Care at PACE Programs: Preliminary Results.” The project shows the preliminary results of a survey about the delivery of dental care through the Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) programs across the USA.
