Mission

Eric Tate, an associate professor in the Department of Geographical and Sustainablity Sciences, will join the PPC as a scholar-in-residence for the Fall 2019 semester. During that time, he will work on his project, "Geospatial Indicators of Vulnerability, Sustainability, and Equity: Flood Mitigation and Recovery." Tate's research interests are focused on flooding, social vulnerability to disasters, and equitable disaster policies. He has previously participated in PPC events, and currently serves on the committee to plan "Extreme Weather in Iowa: Paths to Equitable Response, Recovery, and Resilience."
