David Frisvold, associate professor in the Department of Economics, was named director of the Social and Education Policy research program effective July 1, 2019. Frisvold replaces former director Sarah Bruch, who is now an associate professor at the University of Delaware, Department of Sociology & Criminal Justice. Dr. Frisvold has been part of the PPC for six years as both a scholar-in-residence and as a researcher in the Social & Education and Health Policy research areas.

Frisvold hopes to enhance the visibility of the social and education research currently being done on campus, to foster opportunities for faculty by providing ways for researchers to collaborate, and to develop new projects to strengthen understanding of the influence of social and education policy on the welfare of individuals. Says Frisvold, "I'm excited for the opportunity to direct this program and to build upon the legacy of high quality, policy-relevant research on social and education policy at the PPC."
