Mitchell and Watt Receive Regents Award for Faculty Excellence

Sara Mitchell, senior research fellow in the Politics and Policy Program, and Sherry Watt, senior faculty affiliate in the Social and Education Policy Research Program, received the Regents Award for Faculty Excellence. The award recognizes university faculty for exceptional contributions and a sustained record of excellence. 

Mitchell, the Wendell Miller Professor in the Department of Political Science, was recognized for her service on multiple dissertation and PhD committees, her interactive style of teaching, and her extensive list of achievements in publishing, research, and professional awards.

Watt, a professor of educational policy and leadership studies in the College of Education is recognized for her contributions to and research in diversity, equity, and inclusion, which are focused on more productive engagement around complex social issues such as racism.
