Chloe Clemenson

Chloe Clemenson graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science this Spring, as well as a certificate in Political Risk Analysis and a minor in French. In the future she hopes to work on defense and national security policy in the Indo-Pacific region. 

“I currently participate in two research teams. The first, overseen by Professor Brain Lai, looks at when conflict is most likely to restart during civil peace negotiations. The second, overseen by Professors Elise Pizzi and Kylah Hedding, looks at natural disaster preparedness and response in Iowa. Being from Cedar Rapids, this research is especially meaningful to me since I have lived through the Floods of 2008 and 2016 as well as the 2020 Derecho. I feel that this is a way we can not only keep our elected officials accountable but also analyze the most effective policies that have been implemented to keep Iowans safe in the future!” 

Fun Fact: Chloe will be teaching English in France next year!
