Cwiertny and Secchi Featured on River to River Discussing Impaired Waterways in Iowa

Director Dave Cwiertny and senior research fellow Silvia Secchi of the Environmental Policy Research Program were featured on Iowa Public Radio's "River to River" podcast to discuss the state of impaired waterways in Iowa. According to a February report on water quality issued by the Department of Natural Resources, about half of Iowa's waterways are considered impaired. Cwiertny and Secchi joined host Ben Kieffer on the episode as water quality experts to explain what 'impaired' means in the context of water and what Iowans can do about it. Chris Jones, IIHR research engineer for water quality at the University of Iowa, was also featured on the episode.
