Body

The University of Iowa acquired a record-breaking $867 million in external funding during the fiscal year 2022, surpassing the previous record of $818 million during fiscal year 2021. The amount consists of external funding for leading-edge research and creative discovery, gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations, and federal stimulus and COVID-19 aid.

The Iowa Center for School Mental Health was one of the projects funded in FY22, receiving $20 million over two years. This partnership between the UI College of Education and the Iowa Department of Education addresses the state's rising mental health and well-being needs of pre-K-12 students and educators. Gerta Bardhoshi, PPC senior research fellow in the Social and Education Policy Research Program, serves as the center's Director of Research and Training.
