Novak Publishes Study on Immigrant Mental Health Needs

Body

Nicole Novak, research fellow in the Crime and Justice Policy Research Program, published a study exploring the mental health needs of immigrant communities in the rural United States. The publication focused primarily on the increase in mental health needs of these communities in the aftermath of aggressive immigration enforcement efforts, such as immigration worksite raids.

The study used interviews with 77 individuals who provided mental health support following six different worksite raids to investigate the main challenges of identifying resultant mental health impacts in these situations.
