Bio

Melissa Tully's research focuses on news literacy and social media use in the United States and Kenya, primarily. Her current project explores issues of misinformation flows and information ecosystems in Kenya with a particular focus on how news literacy influences these dynamics. Tully is currently involved in developing the Media, Policy and Public Opinion program at the Public Policy Center. Her other ongoing work explores how news literacy interventions deployed on social media sites can be used to encourage critical news consumption.
