Bio
Jocelyn Roof is a senior studying political science and sociology originally from Waterloo, IA. She has been involved with policy research for the past two years at the Public Policy Center, and also promotes campus voter engagement through Hawk the Vote. Her interest in policy research stems from her desire for people to recognize their civic power as individuals. When she is asked why students should register and show up to vote, she often tells them that public policy impacts everyone, from the most apolitical to the most reliable voter. She aims to provide institutional leaders and elected officials with data-driven strategies for expanding access to democratic processes and grassroots organizing, especially for those historically excluded from those areas.
