Ansheera Hilliard

Ace Hilliard is a self-identified gender queer youth who struggles to maintain relationships with members of zer* family who do not understand and are not supportive of her gender identity. When Woke Up Black was released, ze* was beginning zer first year of college on a full academic scholarship.

Ace has completed zir final year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Community and Non-Profit Leadership. Ze was the president of the Kappa Gamma Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, as well as LGBT Diversity Coordinator for University Housing and a NASPA Undergraduate Fellow.
