Barbara Baquero

Dr. Barbara Baquero is an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa, College of Public Health, Department of Community and Behavioral Health and Deputy Director of the UI Prevention Research Center. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from my native country, Venezuela, and hold a MPH in Health Promotion from San Diego State University and a doctorate in Public Health (Health Behavior) at San Diego State University jointly with University of California, San Diego and completed a Kellogg Health Scholar post-doctoral training on Community Based Participatory Research at UNC Chapel Hill.
Dr. Baquero’s research focus on the design, implementation and evaluation of community based intervention to prevent obesity and promote healthy lifestyle behaviors among Latinos and low-resourced communities.
