Bio

Bob Boynton is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Iowa. His research interests include American politics, comparative politics and international relations. His most recent work is on global news broadcasting and English feudalism. He is the managing editor of POROI Journal, an online journal that highlights research on rhetoric in inquiry and culture. Professor Boynton publishes widely in journals such as Political Communication, the Journal of Theoretical Politics, and Political Behavior. He is the co-author of Rhetorics of Political Advertising, and New Technologies and New Directions, and the author of Mathematical Thinking About Politics. He received a National Science Foundation grant in 1991 to upgrade the Iowa network for multimedia teaching, and in 2006 was given the President’s Award for Technological Innovation. Professor Boynton received a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
