Bio

Professor Wetlaufer's teaching, research and writing deals with federal civil procedure, the systems of belief and forms of argument at work in contemporary American law, the rhetorics of negotiations, and the consequences and ethics of strategic behavior in the practice of law and the conduct of negotiations. He joined the law law faculty after thirteen years of private practice, and seven years as a partner, with the Washington, D.C. law firm of Wald, Harkrader & Ross where he specialized in antitrust law and economics and in complex civil litigation involving contested corporate take-over attempts and class actions seeking to desegregate the construction industries in the D.C. metropolitan area. He received his BA f rom Princeton and his JD from Yale Law School.
