Bio

Jean Hall Lloyd-Jones was born in Washington D.C. on October 14th, 1929. She attended the University of New Mexico and Northwestern University, earning her B.S. degree in 1951. She received a M.A. degree in History of U.S. Foreign Policy from the University of Iowa in 1971, and another M.A. degree in Conflict Resolution from Antioch University in 1997. She has served in both the Iowa House of Representatives and the Iowa Senate, and as President of the League of Women Voters of Iowa. She was inducted into the Iowa Women's Hall of Fame in 2003.  Jean’s husband, Richard Lloyd-Jones, is a retired University of Iowa Professor of English. Jean and Richard have four children, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
