Bio

Jeff Kaufmann was first elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 2004. In the House he serves as a member of the Republican Leadership team as an assistant leader. He is a member of the Ways and Means, State Government, Judiciary, Administration and Rules, and Rebuild Iowa committees, among others. Representative Kaufmann is also a professor at Muscatine Community College, where he has taught history and government for the past 16 years. In 1996, he received the Chancellor’s Award from the Eastern Iowa Community College District, and in 2005, was awarded the Muscatine County Outstanding Teacher Award. Representative Kaufmann received his BA, MA and PhD from the University of Iowa. He is a member of the Farm Bureau, Pheasants Forever, Friends of the American Legion, and the National Heritage Association. Prior to being elected to the House, Representative Kaufmann was on the Wilton School Board from 2001‐ 2004, where he served as President.
