Linda Upmeyer

Rep. Linda Upmeyer is completing her fourth term as Iowa State Representative for HD 12. She also works as a Nurse Practitioner, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. Upmeyer is the House Minority Whip. Her committee assignments include Human Resources, Legislative Council, and Natural Resources. She also serves on the Economic Development Commission, and works on the Health Reform Commission and on Health IT issues. Nationally, she is on the Board of Directors and as the Public Sector Chair of the Health and Human Resources Task Force of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). She is a member of the Health Information Technology Champions in the National Council of State Legislators. Upmeyer received her ADN from North Iowa Area Community College, her BSN from the University of Iowa, and her MSN, FNP from Drake University. She is a Toll Fellow, and an Emerging Political Leader at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
