Bio

Major General Ron Dardis is the adjutant general for the Iowa National Guard, Johnston, Iowa and the Executive Director of the Rebuild Iowa Office (RIO). He provides command and control for 104 Army and Air National Guard Units and more than 9,600 Army and Air National Guard members in the state of Iowa. He also oversees the recovery efforts for the 2008 summer disasters in Iowa. General Dardis received a B.S. in Business Administration and Management from Morningside College. He began his military career by enlisting in the Iowa Air National Guard in March. He received a direct commission as a Second Lieutenant in 1967 and went on to complete undergraduate pilot training. He is a command pilot with approximately 4,000 flying hours in the F-100, A-7 and F-16. His awards include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.
