Mary Skopec

Dr. Skopec serves as a senior scientist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources where she coordinates the beach monitoring, stream monitoring and citizen monitoring (or IOWATER) programs.  Mary is also a member of the National Water Quality Monitoring Council and the National Advisory Committee on Water.  Mary earned her B.S. and M.A. degrees in geography from The University of Iowa, and in 1999, she completed her interdisciplinary Ph.D. in environmental science at The University of Iowa.
