Bio

Mike Gousha serves as a Distinguished Fellow in Law and Public Policy at Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee. One of Wisconsin’s most respected journalists, he leads important public policy discussions, using forums, conferences and debates to address key issues. Professor Gousha is the host of the Law School’s popular On the Issues conversation series, and in 2010, moderated a nationally recognized series of debates at Marquette, featuring the candidates for Governor and U.S. Senate. In addition, he continues to work as a contributing anchor and reporter for WISN-TV in Milwaukee. He is the host of the weekly Sunday morning program, Up Front with Mike Gousha, which airs throughout Wisconsin. He also offers political analysis and does long form reporting for the ABC affiliate. Professor Gousha has earned numerous national and local awards during his journalism career, including two Emmy awards. He is a member of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame and has received the Associated Press' prestigious Carol Brewer award for outstanding, long-term contributions to broadcast journalism in Wisconsin. The Milwaukee Press Club named him a Knight of the Golden Quill, the club's highest honor. Prior to joining Marquette and WISN, Professor Gousha spent 25 years as lead anchor and political reporter at WTMJ in Milwaukee, the NBC affiliate. He holds a degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
