Troy Van Beek

Troy has transformed a high-profile background in the US Special Forces into providing security through clean energy. Troy has shifted his understanding of global security to reflect a model obtainable through the sustainability and security provided by clean energy systems. Today, Troy uses the leadership skills gained as US Navy SEALs instructor/team leader for successfully deploying solar energy systems and managing Ideal Energy’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) design/build services. 

Under Troy’s direction, Ideal Energy has completed hundreds of operational photovoltaic installations across the Midwest. As one of the largest and most senior solar energy firms in Iowa, Ideal Energy’s trailblazing installations have been instrumental in shaping the Midwest’s growing solar and energy storage industries. Ideal Energy serves a range of sectors, including businesses, municipalities, communities, educational institutions and utilities, and has a record for excellence in delivering quality solar installations. Additionally, Ideal Energy has an in-house electrical apprenticeship program to assist in growing and training a highly skilled, clean energy workforce in the Midwest. 

Day to day, Troy oversees all of Ideal Energy’s strategic and operational initiatives, and provides oversight and management on all projects and the company workforce including sales, engineering & design, construction and electrical teams.
