Eliza Steere, graduate research fellow, received a certificate of distinction during National Student Employment Week 2022. She currently works under senior research fellow, Natoshia Askelson, in the Health Policy Research Program.

With the Department of Community and Behavioral Health, Steere worked on the College of Public Health's mission promoting HPV vaccination. She co-developed an extensive training for dental hygienists, and launched a new project to better understand the role ear, nose, and throat doctors can play in increasing HPV vaccination. Steere also represented the department in communication with the American Cancer Society, Iowa Department of Public Health, and other organizations.

She graduated with a bachelor's degree in public health with highest distinction in December 2021, and is currently a first-year UI graduate student pursuing an MPH.
