Silvia Secchi Quoted in Illinois Farmer Today

Silvia Secchi, research fellow in the Environmental Policy Research Program, was quoted in Illinois Farmer Today for her opinion on camelina’s potential in Midwest oil and feed use. While Secchi believes that the benefits of camelina include its drought tolerance, resistance to pests, a short growing season and its suitability in a crop rotation, she also believes that more research into the crop is needed in order to make it worth it for farmers to risk choosing it over corn and soybeans.
