Bio

Brad Wright has studied the nation’s federally-qualified health centers extensively. His current work, funded by the Retirement Research Foundation, explores whether receiving care at a federally-qualified health center reduces ambulatory care sensitive hospitalizations and emergency department visits among Medicaid-Medicare dual eligibles. He is also the principal investigator of studies to assess the capacity of Iowa’s health centers and rural health clinics, and determine how health centers and local health departments can collaborate more effectively to improve population health. A separate line of research examines Medicare beneficiaries’ use of hospital-based observation care.

Wright’s research has been published in Health Affairs, Medical Care, Health Services Research, the Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law, the Journal of Rural Health, and the American Journal of Public Health.
