Corinne Peek-Asa is the Director of the CDC-funded University of Iowa Injury Prevention Research Center and Directs the NIH-funded University of Iowa International Trauma and Violence Research Training Program. Her work focuses on epidemiologic research, intervention development, policy implementation, and translational science. She has conducted violence prevention research in the United States, Mexico, China, Africa, Romania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Armenia. Peek-Asa was recognized by Research!America as a Public Health Hero in 2010 for her work in violence prevention. In 2020, she was awarded the university's Distinguished University Professor award.
